Category I Content Creation

What started as a small experiment — posting Formula 1 content on LinkedIn, a platform mostly known for professional networking — quickly snowballed into a passion project that led us to interview some incredibly cool people who have worked with iconic names within the F1 paddock.

Race Recap

Race Recap was a LinkedIn newsletter I ran together with a friend and fellow F1 fan, covering the biggest moments of the 2023 and 2024 Formula 1 seasons. As a writer in a social media agency, I’ve always been fascinated by how digital platforms have made the sport more accessible — and Race Recap became a proof of concept for that idea: content created by fans, for fans.

*We have stopped updating our content for the 2025 season and beyond.

  • The bread and butter of our newsletter. Every race weekend, we’d pick our top moments from each race so our readers could keep up with the action if they couldn’t watch a race.

  • Leveraging our experience as law graduates, our analytical pieces covered more of the regulatory or commercial aspects of the sport.

  • An interview series where we spoke with those who have worked in F1 or kickstarted their career in relation to their passion for the sport.

Highlights from my journey with Race Recap

We put this piece together in under a week after news broke that the FIA had approved Michael Andretti’s bid to join Formula 1 as its 11th team.

Nicole Bearne served as Ross Brawn’s Executive Assistant when the team won both championships in 2009, and later became the Head of Internal Communications at the Silver Arrows.

Towards the end of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, we interviewed a range of motorsports enthusiasts and content creators, asking them one question: What’s the one thing you’d change about the sport for the upcoming season?

Race Pod

For our second year of running Race Recap, we expanded into the podcasting space — and that’s how Race Pod was born.

Created as an extension of our newsletter, Race Pod gave us the freedom to dive deeper into key storylines we couldn’t fully explore with writing. Throughout the 2024 F1 season, we released 12 episodes featuring quick refreshers on everything happening off the track — and all the moments in between — leading up to each new month of racing.

  • We produced a total of 12 episodes across the 2024 season.

  • Our podcast was played 141 times.

  • Our podcast was streamed for a total listening time of 15 hours.

Pitch Your Pilot: KL Podfest 2024

As part of the inaugural KL Podfest — Malaysia’s first annual podcast festival — Race Pod was selected as one of six finalist for the Pitch Your Pilot competition.

The judging panel featured Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan (co-hosts of Keluar Sekejap), along with Shah Hayatudin, Deputy Group Network Director of Hot FM, Kool 101 and Media Prima’s digital platforms.
